The Spark
We started in 2019 because we noticed something simple but important. Retirees in Cork weren't getting enough gentle outdoor activities that felt social and achievable. The existing cycling routes weren't designed with them in mind — they were too technical, too isolated, or poorly signposted. We decided to change that.
What We've Built
We've spent the last few years mapping, testing, and refining two premium cycling routes specifically for active retirees. Cobh Promenade and the Spike Island ferry pier route aren't just rides — they're experiences. We've worked with local partners, accessibility consultants, and hundreds of cyclists aged 60+ to ensure every detail works. Smooth paths. Clear markers. Rest stops with character. Routes that deliver real joy, not just exercise.

Our Signature Routes
Two Carefully Designed Experiences
Cobh Promenade Loop
Flat, sheltered, and absolutely stunning. This 12km route hugs the harbor with protected views of Spike Island and the open sea. You'll pass historic Victorian buildings, friendly cafés, and plenty of benches for rest breaks. Most riders complete it in 90 minutes, but there's no rush.
Spike Island Ferry Route
Adventure with safety. This route combines the ferry pier cycling paths with scenic loops around the island access point. 8km total, mixed terrain, but manageable grades. You'll get real coastal character — seabirds, maritime history, and views that remind you why Cork is special.
